John Goh is the principal of Merrylands East Public School and host of popular educational twitter chat, #ozprimschchat. He’s known for his innovative and disruptive (in a good way) approach to education and school leadership and we are delighted to have him hosting @EduTweetOz this week.
For a little bit more about John, check out this video from AITSL.
Here are John’s answers to our five questions:

Merrylands East PS Principal and that involves leading a school in curriculum, teaching and learning for 370 students from a culturally diverse community.

Who are your teaching role models and why?
No real models but I take a lot of inspiration from peeps and industry.
What issues do you think are most pressing for teachers today?
The implementation of the Australian Curriculum in a changing education environment.
What are your hopes for education in the next 10 years?
Schools will become basepoints of learning where students are self regulated
In a shameless piece of cross promotion, I’m also going to plug the interview I had with him earlier in 2014 for the Teachers Education Review, in which I asked him about student engagement. You can find that interview here.
